A 2009 Caldecott honor book given in recognition of Melissa Sweet's magnificent illustrations that accompany Jen Bryant's lyrical text which tells of the life of the physician - poet who is known as one of American's most significant poets.  He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize 3 months after his death in 1963.
